Starting university or college this September?
It can be an exciting but daunting time as you juggle new friends, experiences and academic life. After you've survived Freshers week, filled your cupboard with food, located your seminar room, bought a plant and generally settled in, why not do a few of these things too:
Find an SCM group. Check out our Contacts on Campus page to see if there is an SCM group or affiliated chaplaincy at your university. If you can't find one local to you, and are interested in setting up a group, we can offer you lots of help and support. Just contact Rosie, our Links Worker at links@movement.org.uk
Join SCM's grassroots community. As a student or recent graduate you can also become an individual member of SCM. Basic individual membership is only £5 a year and gives you lots of benefits including discounted subscription to our magazine Movement, discounts on SCM events and publications, a termly mailing and much more.
Join SCM's online community. Introduce yourself on the website's discussion forum here or join our facebook group and stay in touch with students all over the country.
Come along to an event. Keep an eye on our Diary page for SCM gatherings and other exciting conferences, workshops and miscellaneous happenings!
Sign up to our monthly e-newsletter and we'll keep you updated about interesting news, resources and events.
Get in touch. We'd love to hear from you. There are lots of opportunities to get involved in SCM's work, from writing for Movement magazine, to standing for election to SCM's General Council. Email us at scm@movement.org.uk
