gender logo Liberating Gender: SCM's theme for 2008-09

So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27

There is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:28

Does gender matter? How do we perceive and construct our identities? Is gender binary? Can men be feminists? What relationships are there between gender, power and injustice? Whatever happened to a positive masculinity? Where are women's voices in the Bible? Does it matter that Jesus was male?

During 2008-09 join SCM as we explore the complex world of gender and justice, thinking through some the questions above and much more.
