The Movement Magazine editorial team invites SCM members, university students and those studying in theological colleges to enter our article competition!
The theme of SCM's 2022 National Gathering is "Reinventing Radical: Courageous Discipleship for a Changing World". In light of this, we are asking for articles (whether written as a popular piece or an essay) to consider this question,
'A radical legacy and radical future? Where should the SCM be going?'
Prizes will be awarded to the top three submissions, as judged by the magazine editor and a panel of eminent theologians:
1st Prize - Free one-year SCM Membership, a free ticket to the SCM National Gathering, a copy of 'Young Woke and Christian: Words from a Missing Generation' (V. Turner ed, SCM Press, 2022), an SCM branded tote bag with goodies, and space at the National Gathering to present your winning piece.
2nd Prize - Free one-year SCM Membership, a copy of 'Young, Woke and Christian' and an SCM branded tote bag with goodies.
3rd Prize - An SCM branded tote bag with goodies!
The top three entries will be published in Movement magazine and on the SCM blog.
Submissions must be between 1,500 and 3,000 words. We expect entries to be informed of SCMs history and align with the ethos of the organisation. We also encourage entries from a denominationally specific perspective or those from a more ecumenical stance.
Deadline: June 8th 2022. Submissions should be emailed to the SCM office.
If you have any questions about the competition, please contact the Movement editor.
