Autumn Gathering in Wrexham
Lovely to see lots of people at the autumn gathering in Wrexham.
A brief blog on the weekend (more reflections will follow!)
On the Friday evening we gathered together at Wrexham Methodist Church in Wales for food, welcome and introductions - some travelling all the way to the gathering from Glasgow, Dublin and Southampton.
After Saturday morning prayer and bible study we had a discussion session on vocation, a working group on 'growing SCM' and a creative space for writing. Richard Sharples, minister at Wrexham Methodist, spoke to us about the Iona Community and his experience of being part of a dispersed community. We reflected on the Rule of the Iona Community which you can find here: http://www.iona.org.uk/iona_rule.php
After some free time we met again for events planning, training resources and banner making. In the evening, Tom cooked an amazing curry and there were some impromptu SCM drama sketches.
On Sunday morning we joined with the local congregation for some good Methodist singing and worship.
There are a few photos on the SCM flickr page. For some reason I only seem to take photos when we are eating.... if anyone has more photos from the weekend, please email them to me!
