Call to prayer for Egypt

Call to prayer from the World Student Christian Federation global office:

It is with great pain and distress that we have received the news of the sectarian tensions and the burning of the churches in Egypt.

The World Student Christian Federation prays for the victims of the incidents, that God surround them in God’s mercy and love and bring comfort to their families.

The WSCF also calls the ecumenical youth movements and student Christian movements around the world, along with all our friends, to hold the youth, and all the people, of Egypt in their prayers and to stand in solidarity with the Christians of the Middle East. Members of the University of Birmingham Anglican Society have strong links with a Coptic community in Egypt, and they have recieved reports of violence and the death of an innocent young man known to them.
