Many Rooms reflection

Many Rooms

We had a fun time leading worship at Greenbelt this year!

We were reflecting on the image of God's house (John 14:1-4) having many rooms, and encouraged people to explore this through creative prayer stations and themes of welcome, hospitality, abundance and diversity.

Here are some of the quotes we used:

Those who have entered deeply into their hearts and found the intimate home where they encounter their Lord, come to the mysterious discovery that solidarity is the other side of intimacy. They come to the awareness that the intimacy of God’s house excludes no one and includes everyone.
- Henri Nouwen

The kiss of the sun for pardon
The song of the birds for mirth
One is nearer to God's heart in the garden
Than anywhere else on earth
- Dorothy Gurney

“Help us to find God”
“No one can help you there”
“Why not?”
“For the same reason that no one can help the fish to find the ocean”
- Antony de Mello

The Good News of the resurrection is not that we shall die and go home with him, but that he is risen and comes home with us, bringing all his hungry, naked, thirsty, sick and prisoner brothers and sisters with him.
- Clarence Jordan

Compassion means going directly to those people and places where suffering is most acute and building a home there.
- Henri Nouwen
