In August 2024 we wrote to Health Secretary Wes Streeting to express our concern on the proposed indefinite extension of the ban on puberty blockers for trans* young people. It's now November 2024, and we're back again continuing to campaign against the ban of puberty blockers for trans* young people, and in support of trans* people throughout the UK.
As part of our Trans* Rights Campaign, SCM members and staff have written a letter template that you can use to email your local MP to open up the conversation with them about showing support for trans* people in their constituencies. The letter template draws on the experiences of trans* people in the UK, and explores how the hostile environment towards trans* people is impacting their lives.
We urge you to send this email to your MP on, or ahead of, the Trans* Day of Remembrance on 20th November as part of the next step in our Trans* Rights Campaign. It's vital that we act together now in support of trans* people in our communities.
