Visits and workshops
Why not ask SCM to come and run a workshop, discussion or Bible study with your group? In 2011/12 we can offer workshops on:

An intro to SCM
In this workshop we will explore the question ‘What is SCM?’ through a series of participative activities, looking at our values and vision as a movement, the support SCM can offer for student groups, and ways to get involved.

Christianity and Social Justice
This workshop will explore the biblical foundations of social justice, why concern for social justice is at the core of the Christian faith, and how we can respond in faithful discipleship.

With all your Mind
In the run up to SCM conference, why not ask SCM to come and run a workshop exploring the theme of ‘With all your Mind’? This workshop will introduce you to the conference theme, and get you thinking about education, knowledge and wisdom.

Reading the Bible
This workshop will examine the different approaches we can draw on to explore the Bible: from recitations and role play, to group and individual study - helping us to develop a fresh perspective and a deeper understanding of the biblical message.

Prayer and Worship
SCM is an ecumenical movement which celebrates the rich diversity of prayer and worship within Christianity. This workshop will explore different approaches to prayer and worship – from contemplative prayer and meditation, to participative liturgies and worship through creative arts.

If your group or chaplaincy is interested in booking a workshop, please contact the SCM office.

Looking for a speaker?
We are putting together a list of people who are willing to speak or lead workshops for SCM groups and links. We can recommend organisations and speakers if you are looking for a particular theme. Please get in touch with our Links Worker if there is something we can help with scm@movement.org.uk

Training for groups
If you are starting a new group from scratch, you’ve just changed over committee, or simply want to learn some new skills, then contact the SCM office (scm@movement.org.uk) and we’ll come and run some free training with you. We can tailor the training to what suits you best, whether on your own as a group, with other groups on campus or with other SCM groups in your region. Things we can help with include:

Calling all SCMers
If you’ve been part of an SCM group and/or have skills to offer, and would like to get involved with training for local groups, please get in touch!
