National Methodist Student Conference

The theme of this year's conference is ‘being followers of Jesus’.

With key speakers Deacon Eunice Attwood, former Vice-President of the Methodist Conference, who will be speaking on “Journeying in God with Moses and Lily Allen”, Rev. Ruth Gee, the chair of the Darlington District, speaking on “Stardust, Stories and Surprises - Knowing Me, Knowing You, Knowing God”, and Rev. Roger Walton, chair of the West Yorkshire District, speaking on “Discipleship, Mission and Small groups”.

Interfaith Meditation Weekend

This November the World Community of Christian Meditation (WCCM), Wake Up and young Quakers and will come together for a weekend to share being young and meditative at Milton Keynes Friends (Quaker) Meeting House.
Wake Up are a group of 16-30 year old Buddhist and non-Buddhists who want a healthy and compassionate society. They practice meditation, mindfulness and community as taught by Thich Nhat Hanh, a renowned Vietnamese Zen master.

Student Activism 2011

November will see NUS host the UK’s biggest ever student activism conference. ‘Student Activism 2011’ aims to bring together a wide range of activists from across the political spectrum to learn, share and inspire a generation of campaigners.

The mammoth student campaigning event – which is FREE - will take place in central London on Saturday 19 November. It will enable students’ unions, student groups, NUS and other campaigning organisations to debate, discuss and organise for both local and national action on the issues affecting students today.

The European Regional Assembly (ERA) meets every two years to discuss common views and goals for future activities and to elect the European Regional Committee (ERC). The ERC coordinates the Region between ERAs with the Regional Secretary. Four working groups carry out the work of WSCF Europe: Theology, Solidarity, Gender, and Culture and Education.
