March for the Alternative, Prayer and Protest, Nonviolent resistance

It was great to see lots of SCMers in London for the March for the Alternative. I haven't got round to posting any reflections on the march or the other events that day including the Oscar Romero service and the UK Uncut occupation of Fortnum and Mason, as well as the black bloc actions but here are a few thoughts from others!

Spotted this blog post from the University of Toronto Centre for the Study of Religion about SCM Canada's involvement in protests at the Winter Olympics.

An amendment in the Lords, SCM Canada in Egypt and biblical spin

The big event this week which has many in the UK Christian community talking this week is an amendment to the Civil Partnerships act which allows same sex partnerships to be allowed on religious premises. The amendment is explained fully by Thinking Anglicans.
