Registration is closed for this event
Join us for two days of learning, networking and getting set up for your year ahead.

Resource: Learn, Prepare, Lead is our annual training for students involved in leading student groups on campus or looking to start a group at their university.

Taking place over two days, the training will cover everything students need to help grow and run your group this year. All sessions will take place online so that you can join from wherever you are, and some sessions will also be recorded so that you can catch up later.

A full programme will be available soon - planned sessions include:

  • Using social media effectively to promote your group and build community
  • Fundraising for your group and the national movement
  • How to run a bible study
  • Planning and running outreach activities
  • An intro to SCM's current campaigns and how to get your group involved, and
  • A 'surgery session' where you can ask any questions and get advice from other group leaders and SCM staff.

The training is free, and also includes a resource pack full of handy hints and tips, how to guides and workshop outlines to get you off to a great start.

Here's what previous participants have said:

“It was very useful, particularly as a new group. It was good to be able to speak and work with other groups and hear about their ideas and experience.”

“It was very useful to learn about good marketing.”

“Very impactful in keeping me mindful of the core values of the national movement whilst planning events. Also gave lots of ideas for events and ways of fellowship based on what other groups are doing.”

“I loved it! It’s really helped me to be better rounded as a leader.”

“It was really useful. The part where we thought about why we exist as a group was really good for remembering that it's about being there for the people who need it, not for attracting as many members as possible. I also found it helpful to discuss with other leaders in our region what events they do, what works well, and planned to have a joint SCM event.
