Easter Gathering - Yay!

Aileen's picture

The Easter Gathering was pretty fab, we all went to Yardley Hastings (which most of us agree is the most idyllic village in Britain) for 3 nights and enjoyed a relaxed schedule that included singing, walking, art, discussion on creeds and non-violence, worship and more.

My highlights included singing 'Calfornia Dreaming' round a campfire and putting the world to rights with various other SCMers over lunch/while walking through the countryside in the sunshine.

What were your favourite moments?

Can't decide

I can't decide which was my favourite moments, but as with everything like that which I seem to do, I wasn't sure I wanted to go and then enjoyed it very muchly. Especially doing gardeny things in various parts of the grounds.
Thanks to people for organising it, I think the best bit was that if you didn't want to do something, there was other things to do instead, not just sitting around moping!

Now that's a tricky one..

The campfire was definately lots of fun. It was nice to see how input from the entire community there was required to actually get the fire going. Having time to relax and with friends (both old and new!) was what I really needed. The peaceful retreat in Yardley Hastings definately provided that. Overall, the sense of living in community with lots of interesting people doing interesting things was what I enjoyed the most I think :-)

Easter gathering

Highlights for me....

I really enjoyed how the programme came together in such a creative way - thanks to all who offered to run discussions, cook meals and plan activities.

I enjoyed the workshop on Creeds - an open and honest discussion on what we believe and how we express that, with space for different opinions and perspectives.

Also the variety of worship and prayer over the weekend :)

And the chocolate bananas in the bonfire were perfect.

We want to reflect on the gathering and work out what we do next year - so if you have any ideas or suggestions that you didn't put on your evaluation form then please email to me links@movement.org.uk.

Also, if you weren't at the gathering then we'd still like to hear from you! What would you want from an Easter retreat/gathering next year?

... and welcome!!

Oops.. I forgot to say welcome to marzipan and AndyTea - hope you enjoy using the SCM forum!
