Student Activism 2011

Date:
Sat, 19/11/2011 (All day)

November will see NUS host the UK’s biggest ever student activism conference. ‘Student Activism 2011’ aims to bring together a wide range of activists from across the political spectrum to learn, share and inspire a generation of campaigners.

The mammoth student campaigning event – which is FREE - will take place in central London on Saturday 19 November. It will enable students’ unions, student groups, NUS and other campaigning organisations to debate, discuss and organise for both local and national action on the issues affecting students today.

The event will be delivered through a huge menu of workshops, talks, discussions, master classes and debates, and culminate in a mass campaign action.

How can students’ unions get involved?
This is your event; NUS will provide the framework and co-ordinate the programme and logistics, however the bulk of the content is for you – students’ unions/students - to decide.

· students' unions will be booking buses/trains/transport so you will need to contact them about being involved in this

· Promote ‘Student Activism 2011’ in your SU ad society

· Volunteer to run a workshop/ organise a debate/ provide some entertainment/ or get involved in any other way you fancy

· Has your SU had some good campaign successes others could learn from? Are you doing some great stuff around activist development? Share your experiences by presenting/ running a session on what you’re up to

· Talk to your student groups, clubs & societies about how they can get involved

· Bring your students – as many as you can –to take part
