Get involved in the National Student Inter-Faith Forum

The NUS inter-faith forum gives you an opportunity to get together with other students to:

  • network;
  • share and develop ideas for inter-faith events and projects;
  • gain new skills and knowledge;
  • support the NUS student inter-faith project develop training and resources for students' unions.

If you organise inter-faith activities at your students’ union or university then please think about taking part in the next two forums on:

Monday 20th September 2010
in Manchester (venue to be confirmed),

and

Wednesday 15th December 2010
Venue to be confirmed

These events are open to all students from Baha’I, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh and Zoroastrian backgrounds who have organised inter-faith activities on their campus (or are keen to do so). The Forum is also open to students’ union officers keen to support inter-faith initiatives on their campus (officers don’t have to have a faith background).

Please note there is a registration process to ensure that there are participants from different universities and religious backgrounds attending. There are limited spaces and NUS cannot therefore guarantee everyone who applies will be able to attend.

To register your interest please contact Kat Luckock, Student Interfaith Coordinator -: Kat.Luckock@nus.org.uk.

Further information:
NUS’s Student Interfaith Project aims to improve the experiences of students of faith at further and higher education by increasing students’ unions awareness of the needs of students of faith through support, information and training; and developing strong inter-faith collaboration between students to enhance campus cohesion by creating space for inter-faith dialogue and activities.
As part of this project NUS is organising six national forums over the course of the project (October 2009 – September 2011). The first two took place in London in February and Birmingham in April.
