Who We Are

We’re a student-led movement inspired by Jesus to act for justice and show God’s love in the world. As a community we come together to pray, worship and explore faith in an open and non-judgemental environment.

The movement is made up of a network of groups and individual members across Britain, as well as link churches and affiliated chaplaincies. Each SCM group is different, but you can expect to find a warm welcome as well as activities including bible study, prayer, campaigns and social action, talks, discussions and socials. To find your nearest SCM group, search SCM Connect

As a national movement we come together at regional and national events to learn more about our faith and spend time as a community. Check out our upcoming events!

We take action on issues of social justice chosen by our members. Visit our Faith in Action pages to find out more about our current campaign and how you can get involved.

SCM provides resources and training to student groups, churches and chaplaincies on student outreach and engagement, leadership and social action. To find out more check out our events and resources pages.

The British SCM is part of the World Student Christian Federation which brings together more than two million Christian students around the world.

Deepening Faith - We think through our faith, drawing on scripture, our lived experience, theology and church traditions to learn and grow as Christians.
Seeking Justice – We believe faith and justice are inseparable.  We are a movement for change, creating God’s kingdom of peace, justice and hope.
Celebrating Diversity – We seek to create inclusive communities where all are welcome and valued equally regardless of age, disability, denomination, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socio-economic background or belief.
Christian Unity – We are founded in the spirit of ecumenism, bringing students together from different denominations and traditions to deepen faith, learn from one another and work together for justice.
