Link membership
Who can have link membership?
Link membership is for groups rather than individuals. There are two forms of link membership: affiliated and associate.
Affiliated membership is available to any group of students (including societies, chaplaincy groups and chaplaincy teams) aged 16 or over based in an educational institution. Affiliated links are part of SCM's formal structure. They are entitled to vote at General Meetings, receive publicity materials to display which show that they are part of the movement, and may invite the Links Worker to visit them at no charge.
Associate membership is open to any group not officially attached to an educational institution – for example, church-based student groups or regional chaplaincy co-ordinators. Associates receive the same resources as affiliated links, but are not entitled to vote at General Meetings, and receive less publicity materials. The Links Worker can be invited to visit associates, but there is a cost of £35 per visit.
If you want to know more or are unsure which category you fall into, e-mail Rosie Venner for more information.
