SCM joins Stop Climate Chaos Coalition

The Stop Climate Chaos Coalition is the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to tackling climate change. We are the committed supporters, campaigners, voters, workers, nature lovers, hearts, minds and voices of over 100 UK organizations, from environment and development charities to unions, faith, community and women's groups.

We have fewer than 100 months to reverse the growth in global carbon emissions, otherwise global warming will almost certainly exceed the danger threshold of 2 degrees C. The most important international talks in the history of humankind will take place at the UN Climate Change negotiations in Copenhagen this December. They must deliver a fair global deal to keep us safe from dangerous and irreversible climate chaos.

Stop Climate Chaos Coalition, the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to urgent action on climate change, is organising the Wave on 5th December: the UK’s biggest ever climate protest. On 5th December tens of thousands of people from all walks of life will flow through the streets of London to demonstrate their support for a safe climate future for all. Together we can inspire our Government to quit dirty coal, build a green economy and protect the world’s poorest and most vulnerable communities.

The Stop Climate Chaos Coalition is delighted that Student Christian Movement has joined us. With your help, we can win these battles. We hope as many Student Christian Movement supporters as possible will join us, and form a visible presence at the Wave in London on 5th December, to demand a fair deal at the climate talks in Copenhagen.

2009 is an all-important year in the fight against climate change. Get involved! The more of you who get on board, the louder our voice will be, the sooner we can stop climate chaos.
