Be an SCM rep at your uni!
No SCM group at your uni? Passionate about faith and justice? Why not be an SCM rep? How much you do is up to you - everything from putting up posters to organising events and campaign actions, and you'll get a free place at our amazing SCM Theology Summer School too! If you're interested get in touch with Chris chris@movement.org.uk or read on for more info!
SCM is looking for enthusiastic student volunteers who are passionate about working with students to help them explore the Christian faith in an open minded and inclusive community and put their faith into action.
Student Reps will be the face of SCM at universities where we don’t yet have SCM groups; acting as a point of contact for students, supporting students to run events, activities and campaigns, and promoting national and regional SCM events.
If you’re looking to gain more experience in developing your leadership and community organising skills, and to deepening your knowledge of the Christian faith whilst helping other students to do the same, then don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to help us grow the movement!
If you’re interested in becoming a Student Rep we’d love to hear from you. To register your interest please contact Chris at chris@movement.org.uk or in the SCM office on 0121 200 3355. If you'd like to find out more you can also request an information pack which includes a role description, Student Rep Q&A sheet and some more information about SCM, or you can download these documents at the bottom of this page.
Theology Summer School
As a Student Rep, you will be invited to the SCM Theology Summer School taking place in July 2012 (venue and dates to be confimed), which will be your chance to share ideas with other SCMers, learn from leading theologians, gain new skills and grow in confidence to be the face of SCM on your campus!
If you're at a uni which already has an SCM group but would like to be more involved in the movement next year, each local group will also be able to send two committee members to Summer School. More information will be provided shortly so watch this space!
If you missed Summer School 2011, but are thinking about coming to next year's event, you can have a look at some of the exciting things that happened here.
