SCM Summer Celebration and AGM 2010

We celebrated the end of term and reflected on the year ahead at this year's summer celebration in York. We were hosted by Heslington Church and welcomed by friends, members and chaplains there. SCMers joined us from Leeds, Southampton, Wrexham, Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham.

Theologian and writer Theo Hobson spoke to us about 'Christianity and celebration', and sparked off lots of conversations over lunch on the Saturday.

We held our AGM where we elected a new General Council who will guide the work of the movement during the common year.

On Saturday evening we prepared a BBQ and held an open-mic evening with drama, singing, dance and much silliness.

On the Sunday we shared in worship at Heslington church and were warmly welcomed by the congregation. Some folk made it to York carnival in the afternoon while others made trips back home to various parts of the UK.
