What does SCM do?
Community
SCM has student groups and affiliated chaplaincies at over 60 colleges and universities and a large network of individual members and friends of all ages. An online discussion forum, email newsletter and print publications connect members to the rest of the network.
Events
SCM has regular national events, including termly gatherings and an annual conference, which offer people the opportunity to explore a theme together, and also enable them to forge new and deepen old friendships.
Publications
SCM’s Movement magazine and resources are well-known for their high quality and accessibility. They are aimed at students and young people but also appeal to a wider audience. Each resource addresses a particular issue, such as sexuality, images of Christ, or, most recently, different approaches to reading the Bible.
International networks
Through our affiliation to the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF), British SCM has links with SCM groups world-wide, and offers members the opportunity to participate in international conferences. We meet regularly with SCM members from WSCF Europe and are developing a West European sub-region.
