Rach's Reflection - no big yellow taxi

One of my favourite songs is Big Yellow Taxi, particularly the Counting Crows featuring Vanessa Carlton version. It includes in it "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone." This is something I try not to emulate. I try to live in the moment and enjoy what I have when I have it. This doesn't mean though that I can't see the difference in how content I am at work now in comparison to a previous job. Not only do I want to make sure I know I am happy now, but to also see that in the shadow of a job that I wasn't so loved and respected in. SCM is a great employer.

If you read my diary blogs you will know my visits to Birmingham are part of the regular rhythm of my job with SCM. Often when I'm there a certain staff member will share her delight of the great team that the SCM staff are and comment on how she loves her job.

Yes you guessed it, this reflection on how great it is to work for SCM! It is about to turn into a shameless plug to join our team and apply for one of the two exciting jobs that SCM has going at the moment. If you have skills in fundraising or want to progress our outreach to 16-18 year olds and would love to shape our communication policy then check out the application packs. You have a week to apply. With either job you'll join a wonderful caring team, get great birthday presents, share the occasional breakfast and join the random discussions on the SCM staff WhatsApp group, and of course be a part of the oldest Christian Student Charity who are passionate about students deepening their faith and putting that faith into action.

If these aren't the jobs for you then at least remember - don't wait for something to be over to realise how good or even how bad it is in the first place.
