Supporters Event: Creating Community

Exploring ‘Creating Community’, SCM Members and guest speaker Reverend Jide Macaulay will host an afternoon of workshops, talks, and a Q&A session to explore what community means to them.

Reverend Jide Macaulay, founder and CEO of House of Rainbow, will open the day, sharing how he created community through his ministry, and helped to create inter-community dialogues between religious leaders and the LGBTQ+ community. This will be followed be a Q&A session, which will be hosted by one of our SCM Members.

The rest of the afternoon will be filled with talks and workshops from our wonderful SCM Members from across the north west. They will be sharing their insights and experiences with their communities. There will be plenty of opportunities to talk with them about their SCM communities and what they’ve been getting up to this year.

Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon. There are also several food outlets available on Lancaster University campus. Please find a list of university owned outlets here: Bars, Cafés and Restaurants - Lancaster University. Please note that they are spread out around the campus, with the furthest outlet being a 15-minute walk, and the closest being a 5-minute walk, from the chaplaincy.

Alternatively, there are also chain outlets available, including Costa Coffee, Greggs, Subway, and a Spar shop. All are within a 5-minute walk from the chaplaincy.
